This is a book of traditional Micronesian navigation techniques. The knowledge comes to us through Faipi, a navigator on Puluwat Atoll, Chuuk State. Sanford collected the material during his two years on Puluwat (April 1984 – April 1986) when he worked there as a Peace Corps Volunteer.
